Description of the Workshop:

In “From Passion to Purpose: Using Your Experiences to Advance or Pivot Careers,” undergraduate and graduate students will learn how to leverage their experiences to create or land career opportunities outside of academia. Participants will describe important qualifications of a future job or career opportunity using a Brainstorming graphic organizer. Using one quality from the graphic organizer, participants will use the problem-solving strategy, “5Ws and 1H”, to describe one past or current job that reinforced critical skills necessary to that role outside of academia. Last, participants will discuss how their current experiences support the qualifications for their future career opportunity. By the end of the workshop, participants will apply the strategies to craft their CV/résumé or prepare for an interview before landing their dream job.
