Short Description of the Workshop:

Historically Black women have had to contend with more challenges than any other race as it relates to leadership advancement opportunities. While Black women cannot control the obstacles that they may encounter, they can develop strategies that will prove successful in navigating those challenges when they arise.

The purpose of this workshop is to equip women with the knowledge, confidence, and tools necessary to procure the leadership positions of their choice. This session will unveil additional strategies to be employed by Black women who are seeking advancement now and in the future. The session is designed from a Black woman’s perspective regardless of sector or industry, but all races, ethnicities, and gender identities are welcomed.

Presenter Bios:

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Domonique DeCou, PhD. will join us again for our BDN Fall Workshop Series. Domonique has spent the past15 years passionately supporting organizations in the corporate and non-profit sectors by aligning talent strategies to organizational outcomes. She currently serves as the Senior Director, Human Resources Business Partner for TIAA, a financial services firm, where she provides consulting to business leaders and people managers to solve complex talent and cultural challenges across the Wealth Management, Product and Business Development arm of the organization. She has deep experience in the areas of organizational development, talent management, performance management, employee relations, and leadership development, and coaching.

Domonique holds both a Master of Arts degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology and a Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Leadership from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

In her spare time she enjoys traveling the world to learn and explore diverse cultures and has visited more than 30 countries thus far. She enjoys stepping outside of her comfort zone and earlier this year celebrated another trip around the sun by skydiving from 12,000 feet. She currently resides in the Raleigh-Durham Research Triangle area with her 19-month old dog King Switzerland.
